ANNE KIRSTINE AHRENFELDT
ANNE KIRSTINE AHRENFELDT, was the daughter of JACOB FREDERIK AHRENFELDT and ANNE MARIE HANSDATTER. She was born and christened 13 Jan. 1782 in Sundby, Toreby, Maribo, Denmark. Her father had been a member of a military regiment until she was two years old. At that time he began traveling around the countryside with his wife and two daughters, curing cattle to earn money. When KIRSTINE was old enough to survive on her own, she left her parents because they treated her badly. She acquired some needles, ribbons, and fingerrings and traveled around by herself until she was arrested for not having a passport or identification papers and was sentenced to one year imprisonment in Odense jail.

The account of the birth of her first son CARL FREDERICK MORTENSEN is very interesting. For one thing, it is the only one where ANNE is not in the custody of the law (in prison). This birth record is found in the Kongsted church record in 1812 [Doc #4]. It states: #48 CARL FREDERICK MORTENSEN, (note: the entries above contain only given names.) huusmand (small farmer, cottager) and glarmester (master glassmaker) JORGEN ANDREASEN and his wife ANE KIRSTINE HANSDATTER's child of Olskykke By, Fredericksborg Amt. born there on the parents' way from Orn Niord (?) to their home, Eskildstrup Bye. home christened 29 Novemeber and the baptism confirmed 3rd Sonday I Adventz (13 December) carried by unmarried SIDSE who worked for farmer NIELS CHRISTOFFERSEN in Eskildstrup
