John Dingley (1610)
The Ancestry of J.P. Guilford, vol 2:367-369 (2003) does an excellent job of research with a chapter on JOHN DINGLEY. They conclude that the date of him being in Lynn was by 1637.
One thing that they and TAG both conclude is that his origin in England is unknown. The American Genealogist" 61:234-240 discusses his English origins in some detail. They conclude that even though there is a JOHN DINGLEY in Charlton, there is no evidence to indicate he is the same one who came to Plymouth. Since DINGLEY is not rare in England, they conclude that what evidence is available is not sufficient to identify where he came from.
I have also a copy of the Dingley genealogy in Charlton that goes back many generations, but can't use it since there is no supporting evidence for it.
Another thing both these sources conclude: JOHN DINGLEY did not marry SARAH CHILLINGWORTH. This was based on some inferences, yet there is hard data that she was married to SAMUEL SPRAGUE.
